Our team is highly experienced and comprises of:
Nick Whale - Managing Director
I have been lucky enough to combine my passion for cars and motor racing with my professional career for over 30 years now. During that time I have enjoyed representing many famous and prestigious brands as a main dealer which have included Lotus, AC, Noble, Toyota, Lexus, Porsche, Maserati and Ferrari.
From 2001 until 2006 I also enjoyed a successful business partnership with ex-F1 World Champion, Damon Hill OBE, during which time we represented BMW/Mini in Warwickshire and Audi in the West Country.
More recently it has been a pleasure to combine modern sports car and luxury car retailing with some exceptional classic cars, through my Nick Whale Sports Cars business which is now based in Cookhill, Evesham. Simultaneously my life time knowledge of buying and selling classic cars has come in very useful whilst establishing Classic Auctions early in 2015. This specialist classic car auction house has done spectacularly well from its first sale at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre in March 2015 and looks set to become one of the leading classic car auction houses in the UK offering "everyman" classics from £5,000 to £50,000.
The people in all my businesses have been the key to our success and their approach and caring attitude have consistently allowed us to lead the way in providing real customer delight, as evidenced by our level of repeat business.
It has also been my privilege to have recently served on the main board of both the BRDC and the MSA, including some testing times in 2008/2009, when the British Grand-Prix seemed lost forever!
In Spring 2013 it was an extreme pleasure to be invited as a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
A cause close to the heart of all motoring enthusiasts on both two wheels and four, the Midlands Air Ambulance operate three fully equipped helicopters, with paramedics on board, from Strensham, Cosford and Tatenhill airbases to cover the Midlands area. They are funded entirely from donations and receive no government or lottery support.
Lionel Abbott - Director & Market Research
Following the twist and turns of the classic car market over the last few years for me has been an interesting road. Having focussed specifically on the rise in values of not only the benchmark cars but the echelons below has provided an insight into a fascinating arena. It is with that knowledge gained that my basic ethos for Classic Car Auctions will be to provide measured informed research for enthusiasts and investors alike.
I’m proud to be part of a vibrant team in an industry that now moves rapidly and changes remarkable swiftly.
Gary Dunne - Sales Manager
The proverbial car-nut from an early age, able to identify most 70s cars by just the shape of their headlights as a youngster on the back seat of my parent’s car, it was almost destiny that I ended up in the car trade. Subsequently after over twenty years of experience in the retail motor trade I have now finally entered the classic car fold.
Bringing a wealth of management knowledge and an understanding of how the customer experience is now, even more than ever, at the forefront of our business I will work to over achieve our customer’s expectations. I aim to assist in making CCA the very first point of call when customers are looking to buy or sell their own classics.
Richard Greenhalgh - Classic Car Specialist
Given my motorsport family background, it was natural for me to start karting at an early age and the progression into motor sport was inevitable.
Ultimately, it is my experience of working within the motor industry with high profile main dealers that enables me to know how to offer an unrivalled customer experience whether you are looking to sell, or to buy a classic motor car.
Simon Langsdale - Classic Car Specialist
From a very young age motor cars have played a large part of my life and have always been at the forefront of my own personal interests, especially the older varieties and in particular the Blue Ovals from the 60’s and 70’s.
With my sales and managerial background of running a multi million pound sales team, it has come in very useful coupling this knowledge with clients expectations and requirements when it comes down to securing their all important purchase and fulfilling the experience.
With two of my own classic cars to fettle with, life is never dull!
Arwel Richards - Classic Car Specialist
For nearly twenty years, since my first job as a showroom assistant at the age of fifteen, my life was always about cars. After a spell during the 2000s as Tournament Director of St. Davids Polo Club, I returned to my one true passion as a consignor for a supercar showroom in Puerto Banus, Marbella.
If joining a team of dedicated classic car professionals wasn’t great enough I found that each of us share an ownership experience across the marques. British luxury cars are deep in my affections, and I am currently restoring a classic Range Rover.
Vendors rightly demand a dedicated professional service that fits their schedule. Buyers can expect a showroom experience during viewing days, and I build relationships that don’t end with the fall of the hammer.
Nigel Gough - Classic Car Specialist
After three decades running my own bookselling business, I am now SO fortunate to be pursuing my passion for anything automotive.
Coming from a family of car nuts (we even had Beaulieu Motor Museum placemats at the dining table), all that knowledge that has built up over the decades, including ploughing through every motoring magazine I could get my hands on, driving and discussing my familys latest eclectic car purchases, playing Top Trumps Ultimate Cars with my son etc. can finally be put to good use.
The great thing is that all the cars I hankered after in my formative years are now the vehicles that I am engrossed in at Classic Car Auctions.
