Classic Car Auctions says:

This iconic Ford Jeep (GPW version) was manufactured by Ford in April 1943, and saw service in the latter part the World War II Pacific conflict, being retained by the Australian army until 1960. Soon after it was imported to the UK, 959 UXL received a body off restoration, however there is no documentation relating to this work so it's not clear exactly what was replaced and/or renovated but from the photographic evidence it appears that it was resprayed, some work to the engine and transmission was undertaken and the wiring loom looks fairly recent. This lack of historical information is fairly typical of WWII vehicles but if you are currently in the market for a Jeep then you will probably know exactly what to look for. The current owner has spared no expense in keeping this vehicle in good working order. This delightful Jeep has given sterling service collecting friends from the station, taking the family and dog out on summer Sundays, lunch time visits to the pub and fitting in the occasional country show. He has added "Most regrettably it has to go. If you are a serious buyer and understand what this means to the memory of the serviceman and women who fought and died for us in the Second World War then I will be pleased it has found a good home".
This is a truly wonderful 75-year-old piece of history, complete with bullet holes and one of the only Pacific conflict models on the market.
