SUMMARY
A rare survivor. Only 118 examples of these elegant, post-war Daimler Limousines were ever built.
DESCRIPTION
- The DE27 was positioned between the DB18 and the DE36 straight-eight and was a marriage of the 'twenty-seven' engine and the short-wheelbase DE chassis
- The 'twenty-seven', 4.1-Litre straight-six engine was developed for use in the Daimler Armoured Car and was later used in the DE27, the DC27 ambulance and the DH27 hire limousine
- The DE models, were made primarily for Government and Royalty and the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip used them regularly here and overseas, including their African tour in 1947
- This is one of only 118 DE27s ever made with just 38 believed to be remaining in the UK
- Showing just two previous keepers and recently subject to a full front interior retrim along with new wheels, tyres and a full overhaul
- Originally black, it was repainted in gleaming white in 1988 with obvious commercial benefits
- Supplied with the original Owner's Manual, various invoices and lots of interesting history
- According to our vendor, "Margot" is in fantastic condition for a 72 year old car, drives very well, the gearbox operates as it should and the car stops well
