DESCRIPTION
A beautiful 1948 Triumph Roadster. First registered in Birmingham in 1948, this well cared for curvaceous, aluminium bodied classic car is presented in stunning Triumph Damson Red and was repainted this year.
Recently benefiting from an engine rebuild in May, 2015 including cylinder head skimmed, valves and head re-machined, new piston rings, the bores honed, crank machined, new main and big end bearings fitted, new timing chain, all new gaskets, carb rebuild, new plugs and filter fitted, and the gearbox was taken out and checked. A new clutch assembly and withdrawal race were fitted, the brakes fully refurbished with new wheel cylinders, new Flexi hoses, master cylinder rebuilt, new linings and the servo was tested. To complete the car's mechanical rejuvenation a new battery was installed, stainless steel exhaust fitted and a new petrol tank fabricated and fitted.Five new Pirellis were added in 2014
This 1948 Roadster had a full a body off restoration in the 1970s(believed to be 1975) when it was taken back to its chassis, and importantly all the timber was replaced. There is a detailed photographic record of the restoration accompanying the car.
Owned and well maintained by a classic car enthusiast and collector for some 4 years, this car is supplied with a fascinating history file, which includes a receipt from Don Trimmings of Birmingham, dated 17/4/1973 for a new hood for the lavish sum of £13.43. All potential purchasers will be pleased to know that the original owners handbook is also present.
A lovely and cared for example of a classic British post-war roadster. Viewing highly recommended.
