SUMMARY
Fabulous Frogeye from 38-years ownership that has lived a life. Sprints, Hill-climbs, shopping and the school-run, the quintessential 1960s British sports car.
DESCRIPTION
- An original, UK-supplied, right-hand drive Frogeye from 38-years current ownership
- Used for the purpose for which it was designed - day to day transport, top-down fun, and occasional Owners' Club competition at the weekends
- Well-used and well-loved, it's been treated to a couple of repaints and a total body-off rebuild between 1985-1988
- Subsequent continuous development for hill climbs and sprints over the years with much success including three wins in the Austin Healey Sprint & Hill Climb Challenge
- Currently running a 1,380cc A-Series (rebuilt in 2017) with Weber carbs, stainless steel exhaust and a new competition clutch
- The package has been softened for road use with the 649 cam replaced by a 'fast-road' cam and a 3.9:1 diff fitted for more comfortable cruising
- The electrics have been converted to Negative Earth and the hood and side screens accompany the car
- This versatile Mk 1 appears very sensibly guided at £10,000 - £12,000. Everyone loves a Frogeye!
