Vehicle History

Remarks

It was a pretty forlorn vehicle when I acquired it from a Market Gardener in the Cambridgeshire Fens. He’d used it on his little farm until the steering failed and it then just sat behind his house for 10 years. He’d originally acquired it from his father who used to work at Heathrow. He told me his father bought it from Heathrow Airport when they were updating their fleet. Someone had hand painted the entire vehicle in red paint, but underneath were traces of dark blue and bright orange stripes that I guess were from its Heathrow days. All that paint did help reserve the galvanising though as the cappings all came up beautifully with a bit of paint stripper. I have a USB stick with photos of the chassis restoration and rebuild which will be included in the history file.
