DESCRIPTION
A fabulous P6 3500S showing 77,000 miles on the odometer. Just 4 former keepers, with the last owner owning the car for some 18 years. Interestingly enough, a previous owner of the car was Dr Michael Beetham of Milton Keynes, who founded the P6 owners club.
The lovely Rover P6 3500 S. The letter ""S"" was chosen to denote ""Synchromesh"" as this model came with a four-speed manual gearbox (a modified version used in the 2000/2200). The 3500 S was said to be noticeably quicker than the automatic version of the car, with the 0-60 time coming in at 9s as opposed to 10.1 for the standard car. The fuel consumption was also improved over the automatic
This manual gearbox example was first registered on the 19th July 1976. Finished in striking Avocado Green with Cream leather seats this car is said to have been fully restored some 15 years ago (having only covered a few hundred miles since). The restoration we are told included new body panels, new brightwork and a full re-spray. The engine was rebuilt with new pistons, hydraulic valve lifters, new timing chain and sprockets. The gearbox was also rebuilt and a new clutch fitted. New shocks, brakes (including hoses) and front wheel bearings were also all replaced.
The car has the desirable power steering option. It comes with its original toolkit, handbook and a MoT certificate valid till 28th of May 2016.
