DESCRIPTION
- First registered on 08/08/1978, this automatic Hawaiian Blue Escort Ghia was supplied new by the Hendy Lennox Group in Portsmouth to Muriel Perkins, who was the mother of one of the Company Directors
- She was 69 when she received the car and used it to potter around Hayling Island with her grandson. The key fob still refers to "Nans Ford"
- Unfortunately, she had to retire from driving in 1981 and, with an indicated mileage of around 4,000, the Escort was put into what became, long-term storage. She passed away in 1997 having not driven her little Escort again
- Over the next 33-years it was maintained and lightly used by her mechanic who eventually purchased the car in May 2014. He carried out a light recommission and submitted the car for its first ever MOT in October 2015
- It was subsequently sold to an Escort enthusiast in 2016 with a warranty confirming the vehicle mileage at 8,060 prior to its sale to another enthusiast in October 2017 and eventually to our vendor. The current mileage is still only 9,515
