SUMMARY

Superbly presented with just 41,000 miles, this is one of the best RS2000s we have ever seen.

DESCRIPTION

  • Launched in 1976, an RS2000 Custom was an extremely aspirational purchase, with the distinctive polyurethane 'droop snoot' front-end and air dam, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, SOHC, Pinto engine offering 0-60mph in just 8.5 seconds and 108mph, these cars were special
  • In late 1978, the 'Custom Pack' became an option and included  'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door-cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13″-alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black
  • Superbly presented in Venetian Red with an unmarked, black cloth interior and a set of new RS alloys
  • Owned by our vendors since 2011 and showing 41,150 miles
  • Upgraded to 2.1 on the original engine, fast-road cam, twin 45 Webbers, 5-speed gearbox
  • At some point the car has also had a Ziebart-style rust protection treatment, evident by the rubber bungs in the door shuts
  • With lots of history and guided very sensibly at £25 - 30K, this RS2000 will not disappoint.
