DESCRIPTION
A well-presented W107 500SL...The R107, built between 1972-1989, became the third generation of the popular SL range of convertibles manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. When new, these cars were advertised as having 240bhp which propelled the elegant tourer to a top speed of 140 mph through a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the 5-litre V8 engine was more powerful and more economical than the model it replaced adding to its desirability. This example, finished in Red with tan half leather / cloth interior, comes with a history file showing that it had minor body restoration totalling £2,300 in 1999 having dents and surface rust attended to and was then professionally resprayed. A year later, gearbox problems dictated that a new transmission was required and this was duly fitted, and the appropriate invoices are with the car.An export certificate, stamped in 1994, shows that the car travelled across the Irish Sea to reside in Eire and Northern Ireland for the next chapter of its life, with many subsequent Irish MoT certificates included in the history file.Offered with a current V5C and MoT until April 2017, ""SVR 385W"" is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner for the rest of the Summer.
