Vendor Condition Report

Overall: 132 / 135

Exterior

Bodywork: Glass:
Paint: Chrome:
Trim:

Remarks

IZV 200 began life as a 1985 Opel Manta C but by 2009, although in generally good health, was in need of a bit of attention, so the decision was reached to fully restore the car as a tribute to the legendary Manta 400. After being stripped and prepared, the car was fitted with the correct i400 body kit including the light pod from Irmscher (Opel's tuning and competition arm) and professionally painted in a number of coats of  'Karminrot 535' (Carmine Red/Crimson).

Interior

Door-cards: Carpets:
Seating: Headlining:
Dashboard: Boot:

Remarks

The intention was always to bring the Manta to a 'show car' finish and the interior was fully retrimmed to a very high standard, as can be seen from the photographs. Other nice touches include SPARCO lightweight pedals, white-faced instruments, and a competition steering wheel.

Engine

Components: Starting:
Appearance: Running:

Remarks

Prior to the engine installation, the engine bay was prepared to an almost 'Concours' standard and remains so to this day. The car is powered by an Opel Motorsport 2.0-litre CXE Redtop managed by an Omex Technology Systems ECU and currently produces around 150 bhp in the interests of economy, but re-mapped, is capable of much more.

Transmission

Gears: Drive-shaft:
Clutch:

Remarks

The manual gearbox is a 5-speed fitted with a 'quick-shift' and power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Quaife LSD.

Running Gear

Axles: Chassis:
Suspension: Bearings:
Brakes: Wheels/Tyres:

Remarks

The suspension is conventional with Bilstein dampers and a 'beefy' anti-roll bar, the exhaust system is in stainless steel, and the car is fitted with adjustable, speed-sensitive power steering controlled from the dashboard.  The underneath of the car is in remarkable condition, a result of fastidious maintenance, very light use since the restoration, and living in a heated garage as part of a small private collection.

Vehicle History

Remarks

The current indicated mileage is 99,900 and it's accompanied by an owner's file with details of the restoration and lots of relevant history. IZV 200 currently resides in the North West of Ireland but will arrive at our sale with a NOVA and all taxes paid. This smart Manta has no competition aspirations but is just a really lovely classic created by one man as a tribute to the amazing Group 'B' rally cars of the eighties and, in this superb condition, would be welcome at classic car shows anywhere.
