SUMMARY

Pleasingly original, this 1.8-litre Clipper is in fine condition and has plainly been cherished.

DESCRIPTION

  • Everybody of a certain age remembers the VW TV ads of the 1980s, and nothing shouts VW more than a white Golf Cabriolet
  • The Karmann designed cabriolet typified the era, and in an attempt to keep the car current, the Clipper was introduced with body-coloured bumpers, wheel arches and skirts
  • Using the same 1,781cc engine as the GTi, although fitted with a single carburettor, the 90bhp Clipper was considerably cheaper and equally stylish
  • Finished in Alpine White, this nicely original example has plainly been cherished its whole life
  • It benefits from an upgraded stereo that will play CDs and MP3 playback
  • Good history file including lots of MOTs, invoices and a service record with 13 stamps
