Classic Car Auctions says:

Ordered new by Sir Elton John…A wonderfully rare opportunity to buy an example of Italian exotica that goes like a rocket, man. The Verde (green) paintwork perfectly compliments the Cuoio (biscuit) leather interior with rosewood veneer, ordered new by Sir Elton 'fully loaded'. The list of extras is no sacrifice at all, including rear DVD player and screen, games input, two headphones, remote control and six CD autochanger. A copy of the V5 shows Sir Elton John, with the current number plate, as the original owner, registered to his London address.  There is also the original Maserati welcome letter to 'Mr John' together with an unused personal 24hr concierge members card with Sir Elton's name on it. Also included are a personal gift of matching leather covered key tray, tool kit, gloves and car cover. The car garnered extensive national press at the time of sale in 2010, after five years of ownership by the legendary artist and the press cuttings are also included in the history file. With a mere 28,000 miles indicated, the car will be offered freshly serviced and MoTd until January 2017. There’s something about the way this car looks at night, and the vendor should still be standing as he waves goodbye along the yellow brick road to the auction rostrum.
