Timed Online Bidding

Our timed auction will commence on Saturday 28th March and ten cars will be offered daily. Each ten cars will be offered in a 12-hour window, 8am - 8pm. Bidding can only be carried out online, via our online bidding partner, Proxibid. Please register in advance with them, to ensure your application is complete prior to the auction starting - we recommend completing the process before 5pm on the day of the sale to ensure you can participate in the auction. As part of the registration process, you will need to provide two forms of ID to Proxibid. By registering, you will be able to participate in any of the 16 day sale.

REGISTering to bid

In order to bid you will need to register directly with Proxibid. Only when all of the steps are complete, will you be able to bid in the auction:

Step one: Visit the login/register a new account page on Proxibid, here. Select the option to sign up for a new account; you will need to complete all parts of the online form including your address and credit card details. The Proxibid video below will guide you through this.

Step two: You will then receive an account activation email from Proxibid. Please ensure you open the email and activate your account.

Step three: Return to the Proxibid website here, and select 'participate in this event'; you will then be sent a second email from Proxibid asking you to upload two forms of ID. We, Classic Car Auctions (CCA), will then approve you to bid in our 16-day timed sale. Once you are registered, you can bid in any of the 16 days of sales.

 

How does live Bidding WOrk?

You can choose to bid live during the 12-hour window, or in advance online via an online commission bid. Proxibid's dynamic auto-bid function will bid on your behalf up to the maximum amount, you will be notified by email if you are outbid, you can then choose to increase your bid. The first lot of the day is scheduled to finish at 8pm, the subsequent lots will finish at six minutes intervals. If you bid within the last two minutes of the sale the bidding window will be extended by a further two minutes to eliminate sniping. This process will repeat until all bidding has completed. 

 

Bidding Increments

The following bidding increments apply:

from £100 to £500 = £25 increments
from £500 to £1,000 = £50 increments
from £1,000 to £5,000 = £250 increments
from £5,000 to £10,000 = £500 increments
from £10,000 to £20,000 = £1,000 increments
from £20,000 to £50,000 = £2,000 increments
above £50,000 = £5,000 increments

 

Warranties

The catalogue will describe the lots to the best of our ability on information supplied. You should, however, satisfy yourself as to the condition, age, and integrity of any lot prior to bidding as no warranties whatsoever are given in relation to any lot.

Once the auction for the lot ends a contract is made and you are obligated to proceed with the purchase. It is therefore vital that you are satisfied to the best of your ability with the condition of the lot you intend to bid upon before doing so.

 

Charges

Like the vast majority of auctioneers, Classic Car Auctions Limited charge what is known as a buyer's premium. Our standard Buyer's Premium charges for the March 2020 sale are 8% of hammer price for motor vehicles (cars and motorcycles). Buyer's Premium is subject to VAT at the prevailing rate on the day of the auction.

 

Payment

Any lot you purchase can only be released when full settlement (inclusive of all charges) of any invoices issued to you is received. Before bidding, you should ensure that you have the necessary funds available and are able to pay according to one of the methods set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Payment can only be accepted in GBP. For security reasons, all payments need to be made by bank transfer only.  


Overseas Buyers

Payments by bank transfer can only be accepted in Pounds Sterling. We are unable to accept funds from countries on the Financial Action Task Force High Risk and Non Cooperative Jurisdiction Lists.

 

VAT

VAT at the prevailing rate will be added to the Buyer's Premium which will be invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis. If you have any questions with regard to payment, please contact our client services department.

 

Collection

Motor Vehicles

Lots will be available to collect from EM Rogers, our Northampton based transport and storage partner three days after the lifting of the Covid-19 lockdown. The cost for which is £25 plus VAT handling charge and £10 plus VAT per day storage charge (applicable from day four after the lockdown ceases).  EM Rogers can offer a delivery service if required, this can be arranged by contacting them on 01604 755 511.
