DESCRIPTION

  • This is the first "Project Adder" with MG R trim, Body No1 and the 3.9-litre Range Rover high-compression V8
  • Heritage bodyshell and chassis #900000 were mated at Faringdon and on delivery to Cowley the car was further modified prior to painting
  • Used by 'Engineering' for spec homologation and then Krafthouse as a styling buck for the MG R hardtop development.
  • Repainted but still retaining its original Flame Red (COF on the VIN plate) due to dents caused by the on & off fitting of the prototype hardtop roof
  • This piece of MG Rover history has retained its originality being owned by an ex-Cowley Rover worker since 2006
  • Built in the LVA (low volume assembly) at Cowley, a total of 1,982 were finished before production ended in 1995
  • Supplied with Marketing Platform Documentation, pre-production timeline and Project Sign-off statement

car was originally purchase from the company in may 1996 by the RV8 prioduction liason manager. This car is steeped in history around the MGRV8 and was chassis number 00000 and production number 01 and used a s a test mule for the production of the hardtop amongst other things


Restoration Notes

this car is stillin original condition but has been painted due to dents caused by the prototype roof being fitted on and off. The Heritage bodyshell was made at Faringdon and on delievry to Cowley they carried out the stillreatined modifiactions prior to paint

Due to venue restrictions we need to be clear of The WEC by 1pm on Monday 26th therefore any motor vehicles not collected by this time will be taken to our transport partners storage facility in Northampton for a fee of £150 plus VAT. Storage will be charged at £10 plus VAT per day.
