Lot No. 477 - 1934 Singer Nine Le Mans

Sold for: £18,920

Capitalising on the success of their Nine Sport at the famous French race track in 1933, Singer started to produce the lowered, lightened and tuned Nine Le Mans the following year. With a 950 cc single overhead camshaft engine, twin carbs, rear-wheel drive, and a 4-speed gearbox with synchro on third and top, the diminutive Le Mans had a reputation as a great driver's car.Purchased by the current custodian soon after a full restoration in 1993, TVB 685 has been cosseted and used only on fine days, MOT'd every year until the law change in 2012 and kept in good running order.
