Lot No. 543 - 1973 Ford Capri 1600GT

Sold for: £7,150

Don't miss the boat...This superbly presented 1973 Capri GT Mk1 is a true survivor and shines like a new button in its Sapphire Blue finish. It's the facelift model introduced in 1972 and shares many features of the Mk2, in particular its dashboard and 1600 OHC Pinto-based engine. It was delivered in August 1973 to its first owner, Air Marshall Sir Aubrey Ellwood and has had three owners since. It's clearly been maintained carefully over its 43 years and a comprehensive stamped service book accompanies the car along with details of the original owner and relevant warranty details.  The interior has a nice level of patina and still looks sharp even today with that classic early seventies feel to it. It has a very good history file, is MOTd until June 2017 and is said to drive well with a smooth gearbox and brakes.  Please note that HPI reports a Total Loss Payout on the 26th August 1992. All interested parties should naturally inspect this cracking Capri to feel totally comfortable.
