1983 Ford Escort Mk3 RS1600i

Lot: 745

Sold for (£): 11,880
Offered for sale is a 1.6L 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i manual that has been with the current owner for the last 7 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores 92 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:

Presented in Graphite Grey  (one of only 250 in this colour) with a Steel Grey interior, this Ford Escort RS1600i was first registered in April 1983 and has covered an indicated mileage of just 80,000 in the hands of its four keepers. It has been owned by our fastidious vendor for some 7 years and, in common with his RS Turbo (also in this sale), he has been keen to keep it as original as possible.

It had a bare-metal respray around nine years ago and was reassembled with as many original or new/old stock Ford parts as possible even sourcing the correct decals and number plates from its original supplying dealer. During its rebuild it was fitted with twin coils in the pursuit of authenticity and, apart from a stainless steel exhaust, the car looks absolutely standard.  It has a fresh MoT valid until April 2017 with no advisories and is presented for sale with its original 'Bill of Sale', original service pack, owner's manuals, and a good history file.

This Escort Mk3 RS1600i is in fabulous condition and these eighties 'Fast Fords' are right where "it's at" in terms of today's classic car market. All the cachet and fun of a classic that's welcome at marque events, without the need to pack a survival kit or worry about where you left the starting handle!
