SUMMARY

The one and only Capri V8 conversion by Super Speed of Essex, now sympatheticaly restored.

DESCRIPTION

  • The Super Speed 5.7-litre 'RS70' V8 Capri was marketed by Superspeed (conversions) Ltd. of Ilford alongside their Anglia, Escort 2000GT, Cortina 3-litre V6, and Escort 1600 Pinto conversions, but we believe that this was the only one ever finished
  • Based on a 1973 3.0 GXL. Owned by our vendor since 2013. Six former registered keepers, 21,679 miles indicated
  • Fully rebuilt over a number of years with all new parts inside and out. Replacement Ford 5.7 351 Cleveland, Pro-Comp alloy heads. 650 CFM holley carb, serpentine pulley kit, custom-made stainless exhaust, custom headers. Under 1,000 miles since rebuild
  • 5-speed Tremec TKO gearbox, hydraulic McLeod performance clutch, Quaife LSD, 16t splined half-shafts
  • Front-adjustable coil-overs on Bilstein legs with roller bearing top-mounts, rear-single leaf springs, adjustable shocks, lowered 2" all round. Adjustable biased pedal box. Front - Billeted Hi-Spec grooved discs, four-pot calipers, green stuff pads, rear disc conversion. 6 x 14 Pirelli RS-style alloys 195/55/14 Toyo Proxes. A sympathetic restoration  in the 'spirit' of the original
  • Magazine featured in Classic Ford Magazine, October 2021, front cover and article. Large history file. MOT until February 2025, issued with no advisories
  • Link to Retro Ford and Auto body Specialist, Andy's Auto body, who carried out the restoration on the car:
