Vendor Condition Report

Overall: 108 / 135

Bodywork: Glass:
Paint: Chrome:

The paintwork is without blemish, and all doors have been adjusted for fit. The car merits and rewards a close inspection.

Door-cards: Carpets:
Seating: Headlining:
Dashboard: Boot:

Door cards reboarded and are as new. Seats in very good condition, showing only patina commesnurate with the car's age. Headlining and carpets very good. Dashboard lacquer has minor cracks commensurate with age - choice was made to preserve originality rather than replace. Boot trim satisfactory but not as good as the interior.

Components: Starting:
Appearance: Running:

The 5.3l V12 performs superbly and has been well-looked after throughout its life. A classic car specialist recently commented that it ran more sweetly than any other V12 Jaguar he'd driven.

Gears: Drive-shaft:

All functioning well. Transmission oil regularly replaced.

Running Gear

Axles: Chassis:
Suspension: Bearings:
Brakes: Wheels/Tyres:

Exemplary - every single bush in the front and rear suspension was replaced in 2018, including the steering rack and the rear subframe bushes. The discs, pads, rear calipers and tyres were all new at the same time, and one bearing was replaced. This area is the cars strongest suit - it is so tight and smooth to drive, it is as good or better than it would have been when new.

Minor: Major:

A DAB/Bluetooth stereo system in a period-sympathetic housing is fitted. Everything works except the electric mirrors, which just need wiring up to the switches (door cards were fitted to a wedding deadline and have not been off since).

Vehicle History

The original handbooks and dealer-stamped service record are present. The car spent over 20 years with the original owner in Chelsea, who was a Dutch grain baron and trustee of the Royal Opera House. Recent history is extensive and carefully documented.
