Classic Car Auctions says:

Straight from the set of Kojak with the same sense of drama...

  • The Continental became the progenitor of a new automotive segment, the 'Personal Luxury Car'
  • In 1976, the fifth-generation 'Town Coupe' was physically the World's largest mass-market car
  • Remarkably original with only two US keepers and a documented history of almost every journey ever made
  • Placed in storage in 2003. Found by our vendor and imported to the UK in September 2017
  • MoT'd 19/10/17 (no advisories) at 121,096. Only 600 miles since. Now MoT exempt
  • Guided sensibly to allow for some fettling but almost certainly the story of this car is its originality

Vehicle History

The second owner kept a pocket book of all journeys, fuel fills and work carried out on the car. His first entry is Feb 1979 at 20,500 miles. His last entry is October 2003 at 120,798 miles. When I collected the car from Southampton docks in September 2017 the mileage was 120,088. Only 110 miles more than the last entry in 2003. I have continued to note the mileages and journeys in a new pocket book.
