Classic Car Auctions says:

A well presented 1994 Range Rover Vogue SE (soft dash), showing 78,411 miles, and finished in Avalon Blue (available in '94 only) with a contrasting Grey leather interior. It has an excellent history file containing its comprehensive service history records from 1995 to 2016, 18 previous MoT certificates and the original order form, bill of sale and brochure. Included in the sale is a bespoke outside car cover (Stormshield) designed by Specialised Covers.

This lovely Range Rover has patently been cared for over the years and rather than our usual practice of paraphrasing its life history we decided to let the vendor describe the car in his own words

“Registered on 31/5/94 to Mr W Pendleton of Ormskirk (Original bill of sale retained) and costing £34,728, this Avalon Blue Vogue SE had hit 6,000 miles by September '95 and 18.343 by October '97 with all servicing being carried out at Hartwells, St Helens, the supplying dealer.

By June 2000, Mr Pendleton had logged 27,959 miles, less than 5,000 a year with the first non service related issue, a fuel vacuum, being reported by Hartwells in August 2001 at 31,817 with the only subsequent work being rectifying issues with a troublesome tailgate.

With a decade of ownership under his belt and 44,810 miles recorded the Range Rover was back with Hartwells to fit a replacement tail gate at a cost of £667, the first major expense in the Range Rover's life, at 10 years old.

May 2005 saw the first signs of steering wheel play, new shocks all round, new pads and discs and replacement middle and rear exhaust sections resulting in a £949 bill at 46,578

At 51,008 miles in May 2006 another big bill hit with the 60,000 mile / 5 year (!) service showing up ABS issues requiring £884 to rectify.

Following 13 years of caring custodianship, Mr Pendleton sold the car to Mr G Connery in February 2007 who covered nearly 9,000 miles by June 2008 at 60,656.

Keeping the car for just over 2 years, Mr Connery sold the Range Rover to its 3rd owner, Mr J Davies in May 2009 with 61,015 on the clock, a mere 400 miles having been covered in the previous 12 months.

Mr Davies clocked up 6,500 miles in his first year of ownership, hitting 67,669 by its 2010 MoT at 16 years old at which point the owner invested in a new set of 16", 5 spoke classic wheels as well as a series of remedial body work repairs at a cost of £4,797.06 covering the 'C' Pillar, rear inner wheel arches, fuel tank, rear anti roll bar, tow bar, rear floor, tailgate, rear quarter panel and floor panel.

By May 2011 the car had change hands once again, with Mr Davies' significant investment being passed over to James Wade of Darts playing fame, however by March 2012, following a failed MoT in January 2012 at 72,898 miles, the car was in the possession of Jonathan Aucott of Tamworth, Staffordshire, whose first actions were to replace the air suspension compressor and air springs at a cost of £637.

His first year of ownership saw the Range Rover hit 73,697 miles as the car was treated to a full Waxoyl treatment in March 2013 at a cost of £588.

A further 1,000 miles were added by January 2014 when we acquired the car at 20 years old and 74,893 miles covered. With 400 miles added by the end of January 2014 the car had seen a series of minor faults addressed at a cost of £546.

In April 2014 after 1,000 miles had been added a further £906 was invested in new tyres and rectifying the air conditioning and wiper controls. That was not all however, as by August 2014 a further £455 was needed to cover the cost of new front and rear shock absorbers to address some early concerns with the ride.

Work commenced in January 2015 with the stripping of the air suspension control valve block at a cost of £258 at 77,246 miles. Not proving to deliver the desired solution, February 2015 saw the replacement of the air suspension pump and air springs fitted in 2012 at a cost of £923, however after a further 500 miles and the ride still not as strong as a coil model in June 2015 at 77,720 miles the air suspension was disconnected and investment was made in high quality coils alongside a number of other cosmetic improvements including a new from valance at a cost of £744. As for the air system, with the overhaul having been completed pre-fitment of the coils, the system can be reinstated by refitting the fuse.

February 2016 and 78,396 miles has seen the latest MoT and servicing round including replacing the front and rear brake hoses to get this venerable Range Rover ready for the year ahead."
