Classic Car Auctions says:

A fully restored 1972 Volvo 1800 ES. A fine pampered example oozing Scandinavian charm. First registered new in the UK in March 1972, this elegant car shows just 2 former keepers from new.

Finished in light blue metallic, this Volvo 1800 ES was purchased by the vendor in 2004 and is said to have been used and enjoyed for several years before it became apparent that serious work was required to keep it on the road. We are told that the decision was then made to restore it, and this was eventually achieved. It is said now to be in very good condition overall.

Full body restoration. Replacement of all corroded metalwork with original or Volvo parts by independent Volvo garage. Bare metal re-spray in 2008. All brightwork and rubber seals replaced. Engine refreshed. All brakes/wheels/tyres/steering refurbished or replaced. Fuel system refurbished/replaced. Exhaust system replaced. Interior refreshed to maintain patina.

The vendor believes this unusual and desirable car to be probably one of only a few rust free examples on the market. Enthusiastically the vendor goes on to inform us as you can see from the above, there has been no expense spared in the restoration. It was intended to be a keeper, but a new project forces sale.

Limited early history excepting the Warranty book that has the initial services and then sporadic entries up to 1989/55000 miles. The car was then laid-up until 2004 when purchased by myself. I have a receipt from the original owner who I bought the car from. We have full documentation from 2004 including all receipts and a full photographic file of the restoration. There are also some contemporary information booklets. There is also a hard to find 'Green Book' service manual included, together with an instruction book.
