Classic Car Auctions says:

Super 'Historic Rally' prepared PV544 from long-term ownership...

  • Restored to a high standard by the previous owner, a Volvo enthusiast in Sweden
  • Since built as an historic rally car by the vendor using the services of JSRallying
  • B20 engine in place of the original B16. Weber carb. 4-speed plus O/D gearbox
  • Disc brake conversion from later Volvo. Hubs and brakes recently overhauled
  • Best placed PV in the 2010 Winter Trial Club Event through Austria to Slovakia.
  • Complete Interior available. Could be returned to standard but, we suggest, is considerably more valuable as is

Components: Starting:
Appearance: Running:

Full spec is unknown however I have evidence of significantly uprated power output when it was running custom fuel injection. It now runs a Weber carb and is certainly slightly highly strung. Engine feels very strong and doesn't use any oil

Gears: Drive-shaft:

Gearbox is from a later 1968 car complete with overdrive. An electrical fault has disabled the overdrive
